Modern Motion Therapy

Who We Are

Modern Motion Physical Therapy has been a leader in outpatient physical therapy services in New York City since it first opened its doors in 2020, providing office appointments and at-home visits, depending on the patient’s preference. Its founder and lead therapist has over 10 years of proven success in treating patients, using a combination of manual therapy and exercises. The goal of everyone at Modern Motion Physical Therapy is to provide friendly, compassionate, professional and highly skilled treatment to each individual patient, and to tailor each patient’s program based on physical needs and desired lifestyle. Patients are seen one-on-one with their respective therapist and given a unique program based on, among other things, past health history, current activity level and desired goals. Our aim is to help our patients reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function and regain quality of life. We want our patients to feel normal again.

Dr. Daniel Rofé PT, DPT

An avid hockey player, Dr. Rofé decided early on to turn his love of performance enhancement and injury avoidance/treatment into a medical career. After completing clinical work at the prestigious New York Presbyterian hospital, Daniel went on to graduate with a doctorate in physical therapy. He has specialized in orthopaedic therapy since 2011.

Having a keen interest in orthopaedics, wellness and nutrition, he has long been a proponent of melding the three to achieve overall fitness. He believes that patient education is key and that long-term health and vitality comes from empowering the individual with the right information.

One of Dr. Rofé’s passions and expertises is kettle bell training. Daniel uses kettle bells to get patients stronger, improve posture, normalize movement patterns, and wake up deep stabilizing muscles that prevent injury by creating a stable body and base. He believes the kettle bell is a dynamic and underutilized tool in the modern medical/fitness field and yields tremendous results in performance and health.

What They’re Saying

In our house, we refer to Dr. Dan as "The Magician" because he is the best physical therapist I've ever had. As a former basketball player turned ultra-marathoner, I've had my share of injuries and Dr. Dan has helped me through them all! He is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and effective. I strongly recommend Dr. Dan.

KG

Dan is by far the best physical therapist I have ever worked with. Not only is he incredibly skilled, but he takes the time to answer any questions and explain what he is doing. After only a few sessions with Dan, I began to feel relief. He listens to his patients, fully assesses what is going on, and continually offers support and advice. He truly cares about his patients and making sure they feel better. I would highly recommend Dan.

LL

Dan is the best of the best at physical therapy. He works diligently to understand the root cause of your issue and then creates a custom exercise routine to rectify the issue at source. Dan is exceptional at soft tissue mobilization techniques, this has provided me instant relief in multiple occasions when I threw out my shoulder/back. He cares immensely about his patients and their well being. I highly recommend going to Dan, you will not be disappointed.

RS

I've been a patient of Dan's for two years and he's helped me overcome various running-related injuries including tendinitis, IT band syndrome, and plantar fasciitis. More recently, I came to him with cartilage degradation in my knees, a diagnosis I was told would end my competitive running career. After regular physical therapy sessions in which we covered soft tissue work, kettlebell swings, and strength training, I'm not only back to running, but also recently raced 73 miles.

KG

Really happy I chose Dr. Dan Rofé for my PT. Through close observation and astute clinical assessment, he was able to determine underlying problems causing my 10 months of hip pain. The program of exercises and other adjustments he has overseen for the past 6 weeks has made me pain free for the first time in almost a year. Their offices are clean and well organized.
